AMU mourns demise of Dr Jibraeil

 

Aligarh: Dr Jibraeil, Assistant Professor, Department of History, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) passed away after a brief illness.

Extending condolences, AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor said, “I express my deep sadness about Dr Jibraeil’s death. The whole AMU fraternity mourns his demise. I pray for the comfort and strength of his bereaved family during this difficult time”.

“Dr Jibraeil was an excellent researcher and a passionate and dedicated teacher, who loved his work and cared deeply about students”, said Prof Gulfishan Khan, Chairperson, Department of History.

During his teaching and research career, Dr Jibraeil published papers in peer-reviewed journals, authored books and wrote and edited book chapters and monographs.

He taught the Ph.D, graduate and post-graduate students. Urban History of Rajasthan and Hydraulic Management System of Rajasthan were his thrust areas.

Dr Jibraeil wrote thesis on ‘Urban Centres and Population during 18th -19th Century in Rajasthan’ for his Ph.D at AMU awarded in 2008. He also attended AMU for his Bachelors and Masters in History.
