AMU mourns demise of Maulana Wali Rahmani
Aligarh: Former Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Court Member, Bihar Legislative Council member and General Secretary of All India Muslim Personal Law Board; Maulana Mohammad Wali Rahmani passed away after a brief illness.
Extending condolences, AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor said, “I had the privilege to personally know Maulana Wali Rahmani, who was a well-wisher of the university. His demise is a big loss for the AMU fraternity”.
He added that as a noted Islamic Scholar and Ameer of Imarat-e-Sharia, Patna; the Maulana founded the Rahmani 30, an institute to provide students from the lower economic strata with free coaching for the IIT JEE, NEET and other competitive exams.
Maulana Wali Rahmani also held the post of Deputy Speaker in Bihar Assembly.
