AMU mourns demise of senior faculty
Aligarh: Senior faculty member of the Women’s College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Prof Qazi Mohd Jamshed passed away after a brief illness. The 57-year-old, who taught Political Science at the college is deeply mourned by students and colleagues.
“He was a passionate and dedicated teacher, who loved his work and cared deeply about students. The dedication and compassion he exhibited as an instructor impacted a generation of students,” said AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor.
Extending condolences to the bereaved family of the deceased, he added, “I pray for their comfort and strength during this difficult time”.
“Prof Qazi Jamshed was always there for his students, exuding boundless enthusiasm and support of their learning,” said Prof Nigar Zuberi (Chairperson, Department of Political Science).
Prof Qazi Jamshed was an adept researcher, who produced significant works. He published papers in peer-reviewed journals, authored books, wrote book chapters, edited important academic books and regularly contributed opinion pieces and editorials to major newspapers. In his vast teaching and research experience, Professor Qazi Jamshed guided research scholars and taught the graduate and postgraduate students.
