AMU mourns Dr Mohammad Irfan
Aligarh: Senior Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) faculty, former Academic Council (AC) member and Chairman, Department of Museology, Dr Mohammad Irfan passed away after a brief illness. He was 61-years-old.
Extending deepest sympathies to the bereaved family of the deceased, the AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor said, “As a testament to your strength and courage, you are in our prayers and we hope you find peace in this time of grief”.
“Dr Irfan was a sincere teacher, he loved sharing knowledge with his students. His demise is a big loss to the University and a personal loss for me,” added Prof Mansoor.
Dr Irfan’s death is deeply condoled on the University campus and condolence messages are pouring in.
In his vast teaching and research experience, Prof Irfan guided many students for their Ph.Ds and taught the postgraduate, PG Diploma and research scholars.
He completed major research projects funded by Government agencies including University Grants Commission (UGC) and DST SERB SUPRA.
Dr Irfan published research papers in peer-reviewed journals, wrote book chapters and edited books.
