AMU mourns Syed Viqaruddin

Aligarh : Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) community today mourned the sad demise of eminent Urdu scribe and AMU alumnus, Syed Viqaruddin (Chief Editor, The Rahnuma-E-Deccan Daily and Chairman, Indo-Arab League Hyderabad).

“I am saddened to learn of the passing of veteran journalist, editor and political commentator, Syed Viqaruddin. My condolences and prayers go to his family. May Almighty bless his soul and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. His death is not less than a personal loss for me”, said the Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor.

He added: The AMU community will always fondly remember Syed Viqaruddin as a distinguished alumnus, an outstanding journalist and a wonderful human being.

The deceased attended AMU in the 1960s. He was laid to rest in Hyderabad today.
