AMU mourns the demise of Dr. Tasadduq Hussain
Aligarh : Aligarh Muslim fraternity condoled the sad demise of Dr. Tasadduq Hussain, former Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy, Aligarh Muslim University, who breathed his last Wednesday morning at the age of 78 after brief illness.
Dr. Tasadduq Hussain worked as a lecturer and Associate Professor at AMU from 1980 to 2005. He was an expert in Islamic philosophy. His PhD was on ‘Shah Waliullah’s philosophy’, under the supervision and guidance of Prof Noor Nabi.
He was a member of the editorial board of the Aligarh Journal of Islamic Studies. He was also an elected member of the Academic Council of Aligarh Muslim University. Apart from Philosophy, he also did M.A. in English.
He also had deep knowledge of classical music and played an active role in the cultural programmes of the University.
Dr. Tassaduq Hussain became a victim of complete blindness in his very childhood, but throughout his life he did not let his disability dominate him. He used to go alone for his work. He remained actively associated with the National Federation of the Blind.
Prof Mohammad Gulrez, Vice Chancellor, AMU expressed his condolences adding that Dr Tasadduq was a lively person. The Aligarh fraternity is mourning his demise.
People were present in large numbers in his burial that took place at the university graveyard.
