AMU mourns the sudden death of a resident member of R.M. Hall
ALIGARH : The resident students and hall administration of the R.M. Hall, Aligarh Muslim University expressed a deep sense of sorrow on the sad demise of a fellow resident, Mohammad Faisal, who was pursuing the final year of Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) and who died after a cardiac arrest early morning yesterday.
Expressing grief on his demise, the AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Mohammad Gulrez said, “Faisal was a student of excellent potential and academic background and his tragic death is an irreparable loss to his family and friends. We pray to Allah for a high pedestal for him in Jannah, and patience to his family members”.
Prof Mohammad Asif, Provost of the hall, said that Faisal, who joined AMU in 2016 as a Diploma in Engineering student, was planning for higher studies in engineering at some foreign institute and was engaged in research under the supervision of Dr Saif Ullah Khan, Department of Civil Engineering.
Prof Asif said that the BE Civil classes were suspended for the day and the resident members and wardens of the R.M. Hall mourned Faisal’s demise and paid rich tributes to him at a condolence meeting held in the hall today.
Meanwhile, the faculty members, class fellows and friends of Faisal fondly remembered him during a condolence meeting held in the Department of Civil Engineering.
Sharing grief on Faisal’s demise, the officiating Chairman, Prof. Mohammad Athar, along with Dr. Saifullah, Dr. Kamil, Mr. Tabish and Mr. Saad Shamim spoke high of him and prayed for solace for the bereaved family. A two-minute silence was also observed to pay rich tributes to the departed soul.
