AMU professor appointed as Honorary Adjunct Faculty

ALIGARH: Prof. M. J. Warsi, Chairman, Department of Linguistics, Aligarh Muslim University has been appointed as Honorary Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Linguistics and Punjabi Lexicography at Punjabi University, Patiala.

Prof. Warsi has taught linguistics at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (USA), University of California at Berkeley (USA) and Washington University in St. Louis (USA).

A gold medalist from Aligarh Muslim University and a West Bengal Urdu Academy award holder, Prof Warsi is the recipient of the prestigious James E. McLeod Faculty Award for the year 2012 at Washington University in St. Louis, USA.

He has authored and edited 8 books and has published over 100 widely cited research papers in the journals of national and international repute. He is the Editor-in-Chief of UGC Care-listed Aligarh Journal of Linguistics (AJL), and is working on Sahitya Academy’s translation project on Parineeta by Bina Thakur.
