AMU Professor attends and presents paper at an Asian Congress
ALIGARH : Prof. Ghulam Sarwar Hashmi, Chairman, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr Z.A. Dental College, Aligarh Muslim University delivered a lecture on “Sparing of Level IIb lymph nodes in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (Oral Cancer) at the 16th Asian Congress of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery held on July 25-27, 2024 at Chennai Convention Centre, Tamil Nadu.
In his talk, Prof. Hashmi discussed how the sparing of level IIb lymph nodes in N0 neck of OSCC cases would not affect the prognosis of Oral Cancer. It also reduces the morbidity and time of surgery and it is cost effective as well.
He said that this study was conducted in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in collaboration with the Department of Radio-diagnosis and Department of General Pathology at the JN Medical College, AMU.
Prof Hashmi also chaired a delegate’s scientific session under Innovation category attended by international delegates.
