AMU Professor conducts a workshop at Banaras Hindu University

 

ALIGARH  : Prof. Salma Ahmed, Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Management Studies and Research, Aligarh Muslim University conducted a three-day Workshop on “Crafting Compelling Cases” at the Department of Agriculture Economics and Management, Banaras Hindu University, Banaras.

In her opening address, Prof Ahmed said that case study method of teaching has been prevalent for over the last 100 years and it is still used, which is a testimony to the fact that it forms an essential component of pedagogy in management at all times.

She stated that most of the teachers rely on cases from Harvard Business Review for their course curriculum and there is a dire need to curate cases in the Indian context.

She, along with her research scholars, Ms Tooba Fatma Bilgrami and Ms Sania Khan conducted the sessions, focused on simulation exercises, helping the participants how to identify cases and how to link theory to practice. These sessions also focused on the essential components, rules and format for writing cases, writing teaching notes, case facts recall and also managing “Case Sessions in Class” by creating the three “E’s” – ‘Excitement, Engagement and Enjoyable’.

Faculty members and research scholars from the different departments of studies attended the workshop, she added.
