AMU Professor conducts workshop on airway management

ALIGARH  : Prof S Moied Ahmed, Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, J.N. Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University organized and conducted a workshop on “Comprehensive Airway Management in Critically Ill Patient” at the EuroAsia Conference held at Hotel Hilton Garden Inn, Bengaluru. The conference was a joint initiative by the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) and Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM).

The basic and advanced airway management workshop comprised 12 didactic video-based lectures and 8 hands-on training at workstations on manikins. Prof Moied delivered video-based lectures on the “Role of Ultrasonography guided DARES protocol in the assessment of difficult Airway”, “Role of video laryngoscopes in Airway Management in ICU” and “Percutaneous Tracheostomy – When, Why and How”. He also discussed how to manage a case of un-anticipated difficult airway in ICU.

Dr Moied was also felicitated for his contributions in the field of Critical Care Medicine as an Executive member of the Indian Society of Critical Medicine.
