AMU Professor serves as the resource person at an induction programme
ALIGARH : Prof. Syed Ziaur Rahman, Chairman, Department of Pharmacology, J.N. Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University served as a resource person at the Induction Programme held for the new Medical Device Adverse Event Monitoring Centers (MDMC) established throughout the country under the national Materiovigilance Programme launched by the Government of India, under the aegis of Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Prof Rahman said that the programme has been launched to ensure the safe and effective use of medical devices in the country, and as part of this programme new medical device monitoring centres are being established across India to monitor and regulate the use of medical devices.
The Induction Program for Materiovigilance is designed to equip these new centres with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively monitor and regulate medical devices, he added.
He also shared the data of untoward adverse events reported to MDMC, JNMC, AMU.
