AMU Professor to conduct archaeological and historical study of Kasgunj
ALIGARH : Prof. Manvendra Kumar Pundhir, Centre of Advanced Study, Department of History, Aligarh Muslim University will conduct a study of the historical and archaeological profile of district Kasgunj, in collaboration with the district administration of Kasgunj.
The District Magistrate of Kasgunj, Ms Medha Roopam invited Prof Pundhir for studying and reconstructing the historical and archaeological profile of the Kasgunj district and publish a book so that its historical background can be projected to the world.
A team of experts and resource persons has been constituted, including media persons and prominent persons from different departments of the district administration under the academic leadership of Prof. Pundhir, which will carry the historical and archaeological study of the district.
Prof Pundhir said that the archaeological significance of the district has already been established by the excavations of Jakhera and Atranjikhera, and now the team has also been tasked to establish a museum of antiquities discovered from various places of the district.
