AMU Registrar visits University Qila, other properties

Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Registrar, Mr Abdul Hamid (IPS) today surveyed the University Qila (Fort) and other adjoining properties including the land at Patwari Nagla and addressed the security concerns. He reconnoitered all major areas of the Qila premises during the visit.

Prof M Wasim Ali (Proctor), Dr Syed Ali Nawaz Zaidi (Deputy Proctor) and Prof Shakeel Ahmad (Member-in-Charge, Property) accompanied him and discussed the ways to beef up the security arrangements of the university-owned lands.

During the visit, Mr Abdul Hamid (IPS) said that the AMU administration is committed to safeguard the university properties.

The Registrar added that the plots and land areas owned by the university will soon be fenced and pillars and boards will be erected in these areas accordingly. He also asked the concerning authorities to submit proposals for security measures.

It was noticed earlier that some unidentified miscreants had taken out the iron panel of the grill fixed at the AMU Qila boundary.
