AMU Research scholar presents paper at EFL University Conference
Aligarh: Momin Ali, a research scholar working under the supervision of Professor Vibha Sharma, Department of English, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) presented a paper titled ‘Using Drama Activities to Improve Learners’ Proficiency in Spoken English? in a two-day National Conference on ‘ELT: Issues and Challenges’, organised by the Department of English Language Teaching, School of Distance Education, the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad.
Momin focussed on how drama activities can be useful to improve the spoken proficiency of the targeted language learners. The paper also focussed on how drama activities can be used to achieve the success through communicative and meaningful role-play tasks. The paper further attempted to gain insight on the applicability of providing drama activities (drama and language games, improvisation, role-play, simulation, mime, skits, reader’s theatre and script writing) in language classrooms to enhance the students’ proficiency of spoken English.
