AMU Research Scholar selected for ACM India Anveshan Sethu Fellow 2021

 

Aligarh: Mohd Anas Wajid, a research scholar of the Department of Computer Science, has been selected for prestigious “ACM India Anveshan Setu Fellow 2021”. This fellowship provides the PhD students an opportunity to get up close with best research practices outside their parent institutes. Anas is among 37 fellows who are selected across India. Most of the fellows are from IIT, NIT and IIIT.

Anas is pursuing his PhD in the area of “Multimodal Information Access and Retrieval”. He will soon visit IIIT, Delhi and will get an opportunity to work under the mentorship of Prof Tavpritesh Sethi. For every visit of a student that the mentor hosts, ACM India will provide INR 20,000 + institutional overhead (as applicable).

Prof Aasim Zafar, Chairperson of the Department of Computer Science and PhD supervisor of Anas said that this is a source of inspiration for other PhD students to strive for more such prestigious fellowships in future.
