AMU residents present case report on iris positioning, win first prize for the session

ALIGARH : Dr Ummul Wara and Dr Mansi Agarwal, first year residents in the Department of Prosthodontics, Dr. Z.A. Dental College, Aligarh Muslim University presented a case report on “A simplified and novel technique of iris positioning in ocular prosthesis” and received the first prize for the session, at the Indian Prosthodontic Society’s UP state conference at Moadabad.

The technique they presented describes eye prostheses for the patients who have lost their eyes due to trauma or cancer surgery or some kind of birth defect. The department provides the facility for rehabilitation of such patients who are in need of orofacial rehabilitation.

The other postgraduate students who attended the conference and presented a paper and a scientific poster include Dr Heba Ansar, Dr Aisha Samreen, Dr. Suraj Vishweshar and Dr Nikhil Menghani.
