AMU student Attends Y20 India Summit
Aligarh : Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) student Miss Pratiksha Singh, and Anupam Gupta (former AMU student) represented Aligarh District as delegates at the Y20 India Summit- a part of the G20 Summit that took place at the King George Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow from March 23-24, 2023.
The two-day summit was organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India at KGMU on the theme ‘Health, Wellbeing, and Sports: Agenda for Youth’.
Youth 20 (Y20) is an official consultation forum for youth from all G20 member countries to be able to dialogue with each other. Y20 encourages youth, as future leaders, to raise awareness of global issues, exchange ideas, argue, negotiate, and reach a consensus.
The Y-20 Summit, Lucknow aimed at exemplifying India’s youth-centric efforts. Experts from around the globe discussed ways to guide the national and international youth in managing mental stress through sports and Yoga.
Pratiksha Singh is a final year student of MBA, Department of Business Administration (FMSR), while Anupam Gupta is a former student of MSc, Department of Physics, AMU.
“Nations might be divided by boundaries but we suffer from common problems, whose solutions are possible only with a mutual dialogue and coordination among the youth” said Pratiksha Singh, who was praised by esteemed guests and audience for raising valid points before the panel.
A Panel headed by the Chief Development Officer comprising of the District Youth Coordinator, District Youth Welfare Officer, and District Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) selected both the youths for the Y20 Consultation Summit to represent District Aligarh as ambassadors of the district on the basis of competitions and past performance.
