AMU Students asked to vacate hostels
Aligarh : Keeping in view the health safety of its students due to Covid-19 Pandemic, the Aligarh Muslim University has asked its students to vacate the hostels and return to their homes. The decision was taken during an online meeting of Provosts of Halls of Residence and other University officials chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Tariq Mansoor on Thursday.
A separate letter will be sent by the concerned Provost to the parents of the bonafide students who are still residing in the hostels to ensure that their ward vacates the hostel and return to their respective home. The letter will be sent through email and also by post to the parents of the students who are still residing in the hostels. This is necessary to ensure safety of student’s health in wake of pandemic.
Presently, the teaching is being conducted in online mode at the University while the scheduled examinations too will be held in online mode. It is in the interest of the students, that they are required to vacate the hostels and stay at their home for safety.
It has also been decided during the meeting that concerned Provosts will take steps for maintenance of Reading Rooms, Common Rooms, and Lawns of their respective Halls during the period.
University Proctor too has been advised to direct his team members and the security staff to remain vigilant for maintaining security of the campus especially at the points as University Library and Cultural Education Centre.
During the meeting, Vice Chancellor also appealed for vaccination of Covid-19 by the staff members. All the Head of the Officers/Departments/Faculties too have been advised to motivate their staff to register themselves for the vaccination of Covid-19 on CoWin App and get them vaccinated at the earliest.
