AMU students receive ICMR Fellowships

 

Aligarh : Two research scholars pursing Ph.D at the Department of Post Harvest Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) have been conferred with Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Senior Research Fellowships on the stipend of Rs 35, 000 each.

Abdul Haque will work on the project titled, ‘Studies on Quality and Shelf Life of Meat Products Incorporating Food Wastes Rich in Fiber and Antioxidant to Achieve Health Benefits’; while Arshied Manzoor’s research and investigation will be on ‘Utilization of Unexplored Mango Fruit Peel and Betel Leaf Bioactive Compounds into Meat Products for Health Benefits’.

“The tenure of the fellowships is one-year from the date of joining duty and further extension will be on yearly basis subject to a maximum of three years,” said Prof Sagir Ahmed.
