AMU Teacher Awarded DST-SERB Project

Aligarh : Dr. Izrar Ahmad, Associate Professor in the Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has been awarded a DST-SERB project in the Core Research Grant (CRG) category.

The research grant received is more than Rs. 41 Lakhs. The project theme is Water-Energy Nexus integrating pertinent issues like groundwater depletion, quality deterioration, energy escalation and socioeconomic effects.

Dr. Izrar Ahmad while expressing his gratitude to DST-SERB said that the project will address qualitative and quantitative issues in groundwater resources, proactively forecasting the futuristic groundwater storage trends through mathematical modeling. Prof. Rashid Umar, Co-PI of the project said the outcomes of the project will contribute towards national water security and sustainable development drives.
