Aligarh : The Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor, along with faculty members and university officers will observe the death anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the founder of this University, on March 27 with a Quran Khwani (Quran recitation) session and floral tributes to be paid at Sir Syed’s grave.

As recommended by the Nazim, Sunni Deeniyat, due to Ramazan, the Quran recitation is scheduled at 2: 00 pm on the day, followed by floral tribute at 2.40 pm at the University Jama Masjid premises.

Sir Syed’s death is viewed as a colossal intellectual loss and his death anniversary is a somber occasion which the University community observes as a day of introspection with a resolve to carry forward his vision and mission of spreading education.
