AMU to organize a grand mass Yoga session on June 21
ALIGARH : The Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor, Prof Mohammad Gulrez will participate as the chief guest in the Mass Yoga session, scheduled to be organized by the Department of Physical Education at University Athletic Ground on June 21 at 6 am, to mark the 9th International Yoga Day.
AMU Registrar, Mr. Mohammad Imran (IPS) will also attend the event, along with ten NCC Commanders and 250 cadets, dignitaries and employees of the University, according to Prof Syed Tariq Murtaza, Chairman of the department.
He said that 150 male and female students from local Madarsas and the students enrolled with the University Disability Unit are also expected to participate in the grand event.
“Under the unfavorable weather conditions, however, the event will be held in the Department of Physical Education hall and classrooms”, he added.
Prof Murtaza said that some special performances will also be organized during the event and adequate arrangements are being made for the successful conduct of the event.
