AMU Vice Chancellor appeals to observe ‘Janata Curfew’ requested by Prime Minister

Aligarh: The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor today appealed all the non-essential services staff, AMU students and the citizens of the Country to observe the ‘Janata Curfew’ (self-curfew) on March 22 from 7: 00 am to 9: 00 pm as requested by the Prime Minister of India. Social distancing over the next few days is essential to curb the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.

“All concerned are also requested to appreciate the services of medical and paramedical staff in controlling COVID-19 on March 22 at 5: 00 pm by various means as enumerated by the Honourable Prime Minister,” said Prof Mansoor.

He added, “Let us cooperate and fight together this menace, which is a threat to our Country and the whole world and if we all unite, we will definitely succeed in defeating this viral disease.”
