AMU Vice Chancellor greets teachers on Teachers’ Day

ALIGARH : “Teachers are the backbone of any academic institution and they always play a very big role in shaping the life and career of students. It is almost impossible to learn anything without the help of a teacher, be it painting, experimenting in the lab or learning a new language,” said Professor Tariq Mansoor, Vice Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, while expressing profound respect to teachers on the Teachers’ Day, that marks the birth anniversary of the first Vice President and the second President of India, Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was an excellent teacher admired by his peers and students.

Professor Mansoor said Dr Radha Krishnan visited the Aligarh Muslim University twice, first on 24 January, 1953, as the Vice President of India and presented a convocation address, and secondly on 27 February, 1966 as the President of India, when he received the D. Lit. degree, honoris causa and also delivered the convocation address.

The Vice Chancellor expressed gratitude towards the teaching fraternity for their invaluable contribution in nurturing the power of human mind and inculcating indomitable spirit in the students and building our nation.
