AMU Vice Chancellor releases two Issues of The Aligarh Journal of English Studies

Aligarh : The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Prof. Naima Khatoon, formally released two volumes of The Aligarh Journal of English Studies, a peer-reviewed journal, in her office and appreciated the relentless efforts of the Editor, Prof. Mohammad Asim Siddiqui, Chairperson, Department of English, and the editorial board members, Prof Seemin Hasan, Prof Aysha Munira Rasheed, Prof Nazia Hasan, Prof Munira T., Dr. M Sajidul Islam and Dr. Muneer Aram Kuzhiyan.

Prof Khatoon said, a journal plays an important role in the academic life of a university and it is praiseworthy to revive an established journal, which, I hope, will carry insightful research articles.

Prof. Asim Siddiqui said that the two numbers of the journal have been published, one a current issue and the other a Retrospective containing some selected articles and book reviews from previous issues beginning with F.R.Leavis’s article on Eliot.

The Advisory committee of the journal consists of eminent writers like Prof. Bill Ashcroft (Emeritus Professor, University of New South Wales), Prof. Scott Slovic (University of Idaho), Prof. Amritjit Singh (University of Ohio), celebrated Omanian writer Jokha Alharthi (Man Booker Int. Prize 2019), noted feminist writer and publisher Urvashi Butalia (founder, Zubaan books), Prof. (Retd.) M.L. Raina (University of Panjab), and Prof. (Retd.) Sumanyu Satpathy (University of Delhi).
