AMUAAQ hosted annual event “Women Empowerment and Zaiqa-e-Aligarh 2023”

 

Aligarh : The Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association Qatar (AMUAAQ) hosted their flagship annual event, “Women Empowerment and Zaiqa-e-Aligarh 2023” at Crown Plaza’s Al Manar Ball Room in Doha on Otober19.

This event, organized by the ladies’ wing of AMUAAQ, witnessed the presence of several guests, including India’s Ambassador to Qatar, Mr. Vipul, and his wife, Mrs. Kirti Chhokar. The program addressed critical issues like gender inequality, women’s mental health, and child abuse through skits, poems, and presentations. One of the highlights was a cookery competition where participants showcased their culinary skills, presenting both traditional and modern dishes in various categories, such as starters, main courses, and desserts.

The competition was judged by Mrs. Zainab Abbas and two chefs from Marriott Hotel, Ranjan Kumar and Leroy Azavedo.

Chief Guest Ambassador to Qatar Mr. Vipul commended the organizers for raising important societal issues and highlighted the Indian government’s commitment to women’s empowerment through the “Beti Parhao Beti Bachao” initiative.

Other notable attendance included representatives from the Russian Embassy, Captain Mavel Burmistrov, and Guest of Honour, Mrs. Asha Shiju.

Dr. Nadeem Jilani, President of AMUAAQ, praised the efforts of the ladies’ wing and called for peace in the world.

The event featured an interactive quiz and a lucky draw. The cookery competition winners were awarded prizes and certificates.

The program emphasized the importance of empowering women. AMUAAQ’s commitment to addressing vital social issues and promoting women’s empowerment was at the forefront of this year’s “Zaiqa-e-Aligarh 2023” event

Dr. Ashna Nusrat, Vice President (Ladies Wing) of AMUAAQ and President of AMU Alumni Qatar Toastmasters, expertly anchored the stage program.
