Ahmedabad : Anant National University (AnantU), India’s first DesignX University, announces the last day for admissions to its Bachelor of Design programme for the academic year 2023-24. The comprehensive, 4-year undergraduate programme combines solid design foundations with real-life projects. The last day to apply for the B.Des. programme is 31st May 2023. The entrance exam will be held on the 1st week of June 2023.
As India’s first DesignX university, AnantU offers a multidisciplinary education that combines design with various other disciplines. Such a multidisciplinary approach to the programme moulds students into designers with technical skills and a holistic understanding of the context. The programme trains students to become good communicators, collaborative workers and critical thinkers and prepares them for the future by teaching them to create innovative and sustainable solutions.
The B.Des. programme offers students a unique opportunity to choose a major and minor specialisation. Students can major in specialisations – Communication Design, Interaction Design, Product Design, Space Design, Sustainable Fashion & Textile Design, Moving Image or opt for a B.Des. degree, also known as Transdisciplinary Design.
The foundation of the programme helps students gain a basic understanding of design and architecture fields by participation in a common set of courses taught by designers, thinkers and artists from many domains of competence. It provides students with practical skills while also introducing them to a broad yet detailed interdisciplinary approach. The programme invites students to critically examine the impact of cultural, socio-economic and political aspects on architectural and design practice.
Students who choose this programme will be able to advance their careers as design consultants, visual designers, product designers, filmmakers, entrepreneurs, innovators, content creators, UX/UI designers, fashion designers and much more. They will also be equipped to establish their own practice.
