Anant National University Celebrates its 5th Convocation Ceremony, Welcoming Shri Ravindra Narayan Ravi, Honourable Governor of Tamil Nadu, as the Chief Guest.

 

Ahmedabad : Anant National University, India’s first DesignX University in Ahmedabad, conducted its 5th Convocation Ceremony at the university campus. The event witnessed the participation of over 264 students who were honoured for their academic achievements. The event was graced by Chief Guest Shri R. N. Ravi, the Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu, who also delivered the convocation address. Also present were Mr. Ajay Piramal, President of Anant National University and Chairman of Piramal Group; Mr Abhishek Lodha, Managing Director of Lodha Group; Provost Dr. Anunaya Chaubey; board members; the university faculty and students.

The Convocation saw the graduation of 264 students across diverse programmes, including Bachelor of Design (BDes), Master of Design (MDes), Bachelor of Architecture (BArch), Anant Fellowship in Built Environment, and Anant Fellowship for Climate Action. True to the university’s tradition, the graduating students adorned themselves with meticulously handwoven khadi stoles, reflecting the dedication to Indian heritage and sustainability fostered by the Sustainable Fashion and Textile Design department.

Speaking at the convocation ceremony, R.N. Ravi, Governor of Tamil Nadu, encouraged students to dream big, resolve to make those dreams come true and work hard with passion to achieve them. A few years down the line, he urged students to look back and ask themselves how they contributed to the making of the country. He added that if the students accomplish their dreams with rigour and passion, the answer will bring them fulfilment and contentment. He urged the students to follow their passion and keep growing because the nation grows when the students grow.

“This day recognises the inspiring journey that our graduates have completed, both academic and extracurricular, under the guidance of the world-class Anant faculty, stellar peer group and the unwavering support of their family. It gives me immense pleasure to see the university achieve new heights and our students as the architects of our continued success”, said Mr. Ajay Piramal, President of Anant National University and Chairman of Piramal Group.

Congratulating the students, Dr. Anunaya Chaubey, Provost, Anant National University, said, “The convocation ceremony celebrates the hard work of our students, who have emerged as empathetic problem solvers. I am confident that our solutionaries will create a meaningful impact using the skills and values they have learned at Anant and contribute towards building a just, equitable and sustainable future for India and the world.”

The convocation ceremony also recognised 36 outstanding students with awards across 14 categories, spanning all programmes, ranging from academic excellence to best innovation, best graduation project to best thesis.

The university also creatively converted its campus into vibrant exhibition spaces featuring displays across diverse programmes. Students showcased product innovations, project installations, art, fashion ensembles, indigenous crafts, and urban design projects, adding vibrancy to the convocation ceremony.

In its journey of seven years, Anant National University has established itself as one of the best design institutions in the country with its unique approach to design education. Embracing a multidisciplinary approach and empowering students with digital tools, it fosters a broad understanding of the world, enabling them to create innovative solutions sought after by various industries.
