Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy disburses Rs. 680 Cr under ‘Jagananna Vidya Deevena’ Scheme, benefitting 9.3 lakh students pursuing higher education

Nagari : Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy addressed a public meeting in Nagari, Chittoor District where he released Rs. 680 Cr financial assistance under ‘Jagananna Vidya Deevena – 100% fee reimbursement’ benefitting 9,32,235 students perusing engineering, Medicine, Polytechnic and ITI students, for the quarter April-June 2023. The government so far (last 4 years) disbursed Rs. 11,317 Cr under Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme, benefitting 26.98 lakh students.

 

Addressing the public gathered at Nagari constituency, CM highlighted over the 4-year administration and highlighted on the steps taken in the education department. “In the last 4 years, the government has focused on education in a manner never seen before. We are giving Ammavodi financial assistance of Rs. 15,000 every year to encourage children to study without any difficulties for parents. Every year, we are distributing a school essentials like bag, notebooks, uniform, and shoes to the children as a part of ‘Jagannna Vidya Kanuka’ on the opening day of the school, every year. Through Nadu-Nedu, we are bringing a radical change in the appearance of schools by revamping the dilapidated schools. We have introduced Byjus content which will be linked to children’s curriculum. We have brought the subject teacher concept from 3rd class. We are now preparing to teach TOEFL orientation from the third grade. Starting with CBSE syllabus, our government schools are taking fast steps towards IB and IGCSE International Certification. We are in rapid progress in digitizing every classroom and positive in completing around 63,000 classrooms equipped with interactive flat panels (IFPs) and smart TVs by December 2023. We have been providing tabs to eighth-grade students to boost their motivation to study and raise their capacity for comprehension”
