Andhra Pradesh Transport Department & Honda 2Wheelers India digitally inaugurates 2nd Safety Driving Education Center in A.P

Visakhapatnam, 8 September, 2020: After successfully sensitizing nearly 1.9 lac learner license applicants & traffic rule violaters across 7 states, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) in association with Andhra Pradesh Transport Department today announced the start of ‘Road Safety Training’ exclusively for learner license applicants of Visakhapatnam.

 

In order to sensitize applicants coming for Learner License Registration (LLR) on driving rules & regulations, road signs and driver’s duties on road, the Transport Department of Government of Andhra Pradesh has given responsibility to Honda to inititate a pre-Learner License Registration programme for all two-wheeler & four-wheeler learner license applicants of the city. Honda’s skilled instructors will train all learner license applicants at Regional Transport Office, Vuda Colony, Marripalem, Visakhapatnam with all safety measures & social distancing norms.

 

The inauguration of Honda’s 2nd Safety Driving Education Center in Andhra Pradesh was held digitally in the august presence of Sh. Perni Venkataramaiah (Hon’ble Minister for Transport and Information & Public Relations, Government of Andhra Pradesh) and Mr Prabhu Nagaraj (Senior Vice President – Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd.) along with the other senior dignitaries from state government and Honda 2Wheelers India.

 

Stressing upon the importance of road safety, Sh. Perni Venkataramaiah, Hon’ble Minister for Transport and I&PR, Government of Andhra Pradesh said, “Road Safety has become a serious concern across India. In Andhra Pradesh, 8,000 people died & 25,000 got injured in 30,000 road accidents occurred in 2018. Road accidents are occurred due to poor vehicle & road conditions but their bad effects can be minimized with good driving behaviour. As per Section 3 of Motor Vehicle Act of India, no person shall drive a motor vehicle in any place unless he holds an effective driving licence. A learner license is issued to an individual after testing his knowledge on driving rules & regulations through theoretical & practical test. Therefore, to enhance their knowledge, the Government of Andhra Pradesh in association with Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. today inaugurates Safety Driving Education Center in Vishakhapatnam & initiates a pre-Learner License Registration programme for all the license applicants. I appreciate the efforts taken by Honda 2Wheelers India who has come up with this initiative to train the LLR applicants of Vishakhapatnam.”

 

Sharing his thoughts on the new road safety awareness training program, Mr Prabhu Nagaraj, Senior Vice President – Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt.
