Anna University Vice Chancellor Dr. R. Velraj inaugurated the PROJECT DAY 2022
- Over 6000 school student visited and witness the innovative Project
Chennai : SRM Group of Institution, Ramapuram Campus, Chennai (Easwari Engineering College, SRM Institute of Science and Technology and SRM Dental College) has organized a three day event –“Project Day 2022” from 21st to 23rd April 2022 in Ramapuram campus, Chennai. The main objective of organising this event is to bring out the hidden innovative product development talents of the young Engineers and Dentists and it was inaugurated by Dr. R. Velraj, Vice – Chancellor, Anna University, Chennai.
More than 250 highly innovative projects covering different branches of Engineering, Technology, Dental, Management and Film Technology were showcased by students with a lot of youthful exuberance. More than 6000 visitors from around 60 schools of different parts of the city attended and witnessed the exhibits.
In his inaugural address Dr. R. Velraj Vice Chancellor, Anna University highlighted the need for Entrepreneurship Skill Development and emphasized that the nation is now in need of more Entrepreneurs and Innovation. Dr.R.Velraj and Dr. R. Shivakumar motivated and encouraged students by visiting all the exhibit stalls and having thought provoking interaction with the students.
The projects designed were eco-friendly with high-end technology. Prototype models were displayed for all projects. Multidisciplinary projects drew a lot of attraction for their innovation and application. SRM believes in concept based training and PROJECT DAY 2022 is one such initiative to convert the concepts to application. Film actor and Project director of SRM Media Sciences Damu conducted interactive Career Guidance training sessions in which school children participated with a lot of ebullience. All the projects were adjudicated by eminent jury and were awarded attractive cash prizes.
The function was presided over by Dr. R. Shivakumar, Chairman, SRM Group of Institutions, Ramapuram and Trichy campuses, Mr. S. Niranjan, Co-Chairman, SRM Group of Institutions, Ramapuram and Trichy campuses, Dr. N. Sethuraman, Chief Director, SRM Group of Institutions, Ramapuram and Trichy campuses, Dr.V.Subbiah Bharathi, Director, Ramapuram Campus, Dr.B.Venkatachalapathy, Dean (Research), Teacher, staff and students were present at the event.
