Annual Flower Show-2021 concludes
Aligarh: Commandant 104 RAF received the University Running Cup for the Best Institutional Garden in the two days Annual Flower Show-2021, concluded on 14th March at Gulistan-e-Syed. It was organised by the Department of Land and Gardens, Aligarh Muslim University.
Al-Hamd Agro Foods won the University Running Cup for the best exhibit of the show.
VC Lodge (Central Lawns) bagged the University Running Cup for the best garden of the university between 1500 Sq.m to 2000 Sq.m and also received Mr Zafar Alam Running Cup for the Best Exhibit in Class D.
Department of Botany (Central Lawn) was given the HP Bhaiyaji Running Cup for the best garden of the university between 1000 Sq.m to 1500 Sq.m
Department of the Zoology was declared as the winner of University Running Cup for the Best University Garden between 250 Sq.m to 500 Sq.m
PVC Lodge (Fountain Lawn) won the Smt. Rekha Krishna Memorial Running Cup for the Best Garden of the University below 250 Sq.m and also bagged Mr M Habib Running Cup for the best exhibit in Class B.
Mr Ahmad Moosa Saad Saeed Siddiqui was awarded Dr MK Gupta and Smt Sudha Gupta Running Trophy for the Best Private Garden.
Gulistan-e-Syed won the Anand Chaturvedi Memorial Running Cup for the best exhibit in Class C and also bagged Begun Sarwat-un-Nisa for the Best Lawn Large size.
Registrar lodge bagged the Mr Nafisul Hasan Running Cup for the Best Rose in Class C-4.
Botanical Garden won the Syed Viqar Ahmad Running Cup for the best exhibit in Class F1/ F6, while Mr Mohd Humaid received the Prof Suhail Ahmad Memorial Running Cup for different Cacti (Grown in pots).
In flowering Annuals in Pots, Cut Flower (Roses), Cut Flowers (Flowering Annuals), Ornamentals and On the Spot Flower arrangements categories, 55 First Prizes were given, 66 Second Prizes and 74 Consolation Prizes were also given.
Chief Guest on the occasion Mr Gurav Dayal (IAS) Commissioner Aligarh, Guest of Honour Prof Zaheeruddin (Pro –Vice Chancellor , AMU) along with his wife , Guest of Honour Prof SM Jawed Akhtar ( Finance Officer, AMU) and Special Guests Prof Mujahid Beg (Dean Students’Welfare) , Prof M Wasim Ali ( Proctor) , Prof Adtab Alam ( EC Member) , Dr Mohd Shahid ( Dy. Director, Sir Syed Academy) , Prof Mohd Ali Johar ( Chairman Dept of Urdu) , Prof Irshad Mehmood ( Advisor Land and Garden ) Mr Kamlesh Kumar ( Commandant RAF) , Nawab Javed Said Chattari, Prof Wazahat Husain , Prof Qamar Rizvi , Prof Hashmat A Khan , Dr Ali Nawaz Zaidi and Prof Mujeeb Ansari along with other officials gave away the trophies and distributed the prizes to the winners.
The Chief Guest Mr Gaurav Dayal and Guest of Honour Prof Zaheeruddin (PVC) addressed the gathering and appreciated the efforts for organising the Annual Flower show.
Prof Zaki Anwar Siddiqui (MIC Land and Garden) gave welcome address and conducted the program, while Dr Tariq Aftab Associate MIC and Convenor of the Flower Show coordinated the program.
