Annual Flower Show-2021 inaugurated at AMU

Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor today inaugurated the Annual Flower Show-2021 at Gulistan-e-Syed and the guest of honour Mr Piyush Mordia (IPS), IG Aligarh was the guest of honor. The Department of Land and Gardens, AMU is organising the event.

The event has flowers on display under seven different categories. In the Class A (University, Institutional and Private gardens) 74 entries have been received while 346 entries in the Class B of Flowering Annuals in pots; 174 entries in the Class CA of cut flower’s flowering annuals, 85 entries in the Class C of Cut Flower (Roses); 98 numbers in Class D Ornamental Flowers; 32 entries in Class E with Flower Arrangements and 153 entries have been made under Class F with Succulents, Cacti-Bonsai, Euphorbia, Poinsettia, Bougainvillea, Bonsai and others.

The Vice Chancellor Lodge, Pro-Vice Chancellor Lodge, Registrar Lodge, Admin Block , VC Nursery , SS Hall Mosque, SS Hall South, Sir Syed House, Guest House No. 1, 2 & 3, MA Library, Engineering College , Electrical Engineering , Civil Engineering, Kennedy Hall, Chemistry Department, Mathematics Department , Theology Department , Faculty of Arts, Gulistan-e-Syed , RAF 104, Al-Hamd , Al-Barkaat, IG Hall, VM Hall, Begum Aziz-un-Nisa Hall, Private Garden , Institutional Garden and University Garden participated in the event .

Noted Paediatrician Dr Hameeda Tariq, MIC Land and Garden Prof Zaki Anwar Siddiqui , Dean Students Welfare Prof Mujahid Beg , Proctor Mohd Wasim Ali and Associate MIC and Dr Tariq Aftab, Prof Irshad Mehamood Advisor Department of Land and Garden, Deans and Chairman of the different faculties and departments , Principal of the Colleges of different departments were present also on the occasion, along with other guests.

The event will conclude with a prize distribution ceremony on March 14, 2021 at 3:30 pm.
