AnteNatal Clinic and Pathology Lab inaugurated at AKTC
Aligarh : A State-of-the-art AnteNatal Clinic (ANC) for early detection and management of pregnancy related complications and a Central Pathology Lab for the analysis of blood, urine and tissue samples for examining and diagnosis were inaugurated at the Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College (AKTC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
Inaugurating the Clinic and the Lab, renowned Paediatric Consultant, Dr Hameeda Tariq said: “The antenatal care at the newly inaugurated clinic will be a boon for women from lower income groups to prepare them for birth and motherhood as well as manage, check, identify and alleviate the health problems during pregnancy that could affect mothers and babies”.
She added: “The Central Pathology Lab at AKTC will lessen the burden on other government health facilities for the study of various diseases”.
Dr Hameeda also gave valuable suggestions to Prof F S Sherani (Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine) and Prof Shagufta Aleem (Principal, AKTC).
Extending gratitude, Prof Sherani and Prof Shagufta said that the new clinic and the lab will be very beneficial to the undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Prof Suboohi Mustafa (Chairperson, Department of Amraz-e-Niswan-wa-Atfal) and Prof M M Wamiq Amin (Chairman, Department of Ilmul Amraz) with faculty members accompanied Dr Hameeda on the visit to the Departments of Amraz-e-Niswan-wa-Atfal and Ilmul Amraz.
Dr Sana Siddiqui (Clinical Consultant) will attend the patients on Tuesdays and Fridays at the AnteNatal Clinic, Dr Ataullah Fahad (In-charge) will look after the functioning of the Central Pathology Lab.
