AP EAMCET Aspirants can Now Write the Paper in Urdu
JNTU Hyderabad will conduct AP EAMCET 2018 between May 2nd and 7th this year. For the first time, aspirants will be allowed to take the online exam for admission in Agriculture and Engineering courses, in Urdu, apart from English and Telugu. Urdu has been included as the second official language of Telangana. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the students from Urdu medium. Students opting for Urdu will get the questions in English and Urdu, while others will get them in English and Telugu. It has been clarified in the notification that the questions in English will be translated in Telugu and Urdu and it will not be a separate set of questions
The online application process for AP EAMCET 2018 will commence from March 4th and the candidates will be able to apply without late fee till April 4th. Correction window will be activated from April 6th to 9th and hall tickets will be available for download from April 20th to May 1st. The result is expected to be declared within 10 days of the examination. At least 14 regional centres have been selected for conduction of the exam, including` Tirupati, Vijayawada, Kurnool and Vishakhapatnam.

Chairman of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE), Mr T. Papi Reddy said that they are expecting 1.5 lakh candidates to sit for the exam this year. The examination will be conducted in slots between May 2nd and May 7th, as they have the capacity to accommodate only 25,000 students. He also said that Agriculture and Pharmacy exam will be conducted before Engineering, so that students can appear for NEET exam scheduled to be held nationwide on May 6th, 2018. Agriculture and Pharmacy Exam will be held on May 2nd and May 3rd, while Engineering Exam will be on May 4th, May 5th and May 7th. No exam will be held on May 6th for NEET exam. He also added that the renowned IT firm TCS has been given the responsibility to conduct the exam, which will be conducted in the online mode for the first time.
It has been decided that ‘normalization formula’ will be applied to rank the candidates. Prof Nageshwar Rao from IIT Kharagpur has been persuaded to join for this purpose. The details of this method will be mentioned on the website later on for the aspirants to understand better.
Mr N. Yadaiah, the convener of TS EAMCET, has mentioned that provisional key will be made available after two days of the exam and candidates can get their response sheets on that day too. He also mentioned that it has been declared mandatory to have an email id for each of the candidates. EAMCET authorities will communicate with all the candidates via email and response sheets will be also sent via emails. He said that results are expected to be released in the second or third week of May and response sheets will reach students on May 9th, providing three days for raising objections.
EAMCET going online from this year is the reason for the hike in the exam registration fees. Fees have been increased almost twice form Rs. 250/- last year to Rs. 400 for SC/ST candidates. For general candidates, the hike has been Rs. 800 this year from Rs. 500 last year.
