Aparna Rajawat joins hands with ‘Mission Shakti’ by UP CM to Train Women in Self-Defense

Lucknow: Signifying the spirit and message of `Mission Shakti’ launched by the Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath Ji, Aparna Rajawat, Pink Belt Mission founder has joined hands with the initiative to bestow upon her contribution towards the empowerment of Women in the State.

Highly trained martial art expert and a global trainer, Rajawat is confident that besides spreading awareness amongst women, `Mission Shakti’ will also serve as an important platform that will sensitise them towards their rights and instill a sense of confidence to defend themselves in inappropriate situations.

Eagerly associating herself with `Mission Shakti’, she says, “I feel honored to associate and empower the women community in my State with my contribution. The impeccable mission launched by The CM is aimed towards holistic development covering education, health, safety, dignity and the rights of women. This will surely bring about a wave of change in society along with various other women-oriented schemes by the Government”.

Aligning with the ‘Mission Shakti’ of Uttar Pradesh Government towards building a safe and secure State, Aparna will be organizing camps phase wise in different district of Uttar Pradesh under her program ‘Pink Belt Mission’ starting from Agra.

“Once the training is complete, our aim is to make these women self-reliant and a master who can make a chain and successfully impart self defense training to other girls and empowering them. This will cite an increase in self-confidence about personal safety” she says.

A native of Agra, Rajawat took on the mission of empowering girls in 2018 and till now she has covered Mathura, Firozabad, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Basti, Varanasi, Mau, Agra, Noida, Mainpuri, Aligarh, Kushinagar, Meerut and Lucknow under her mission making them self-reliant.

“I also had the opportunity to get associated with the Women Power Helpline 1090 and till now I have trained as many as 1 Lakh girls across UP,” she shares.

Detailing about her Pink Belt Mission, Rajwat says that besides imparting physical self defense training to girls, her Pink Belt Mission also includes spreading awareness about mental, emotional, legal and digital safety.

For her exemplary work toward women empowerment, Rajawat has won international accolades. She has held many counseling sessions on various issues such as women empowerment, gender decimation and also for women who were stressed mentally.

The UP government has launched a six-month long women empowerment programme ‘Mission Shakti’ beginning from ‘Shardiya Navratri’ and will continue for the next six months till the ‘Chaitra Navratri’ in April across the state.
