Apeejay Festival of Ideas by Ignited Minds focus on Climate change
Greater Noida :The annual Apeejay Festival of Ideas by Ignited Minds – 3 (AFIIM-3) was held at Apeejay School of Architecture and Planning, Greater Noida, on 30th and 31st of July 2021. It was conceptualized around an issue which is critical for the entire planet- Climate Change. The event received participation entries from many colleges of Architecture. (The Prem Jain Memorial Trust Energy Award was also given to the deserving entries).
The two-day event ignited & energized the dialogue of Climate Change, sustainability and shall keep the ball rolling throughout the year through ways and means which takes the cause forward. For participants there were an array of competitions, quizzes, virtual tours, workshops, and cultural events, besides attractive prizes and certificates.
In an inaugural message for the event, Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairperson, Apeejay Education and Co-Promoter and President, Apeejay Stya and Svran Group said, “The issue of ‘Climate change’ which has an impact on all today and will have far-reaching effects tomorrow, must be addressed over a period of time, providing insights into every aspect of the world, whether it is technology or trade, social sciences or environment. I am happy to see an event of this theme and magnitude being organised online for young influential minds, and am confident that many firsts would come out of it”.
The Chief Guest of the event, Dr Rajiv Kumar, Vice Chairman, Niti Ayog highlighted the crucial role that architects play in shaping up a country. He said to them, “I appeal to you to not see yourself merely as builders of houses, residences, farm houses and resorts, but as people who shape the urban-economic geography of this country. As you know, the government has launched the ‘100 Smart Cities Mission’, it’s a huge opportunity for all of us to contribute”.
