Apeejay School of Architecture and Planning organises Online FDP on Best Practices in Architecture Education
Greater Noida: The Apeejay School of Architecture and Planning, Greater Noida, organised a five-day-long online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on ‘Outcome-Based Education: Best Practices in Architecture Education’ recently.
The programme commenced with the Saraswati Vandana and blessings of Honourable Chairman, Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Apeejay Education. Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak, Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow was the Chief Patron.
Patron Dr S.K. Salwan, CEO, Apeejay Institute of Technology and Principal Advisor to the Chairman, Apeejay Education congratulated Prof. Vivek Sabherwal, Director, Apeejay School of Architecture and Planning for organising the FDP and allowing faculty & scholars to keep them ahead of time.
Prof. Vivek Sabherwal, Director, Apeejay School of Architecture and Planning, in his welcome address assured to have a purposeful five-day deliberation and an opportunity to learn from each other as well as effectively implement the ideas shared during the five days for future Architecture education endeavours.
Chief Guest, Architect Sapna Kumar, Vice-President Council of Architecture, in her address highlighted the complexity of Architecture Education due to a large number of other professional skills, and also emphasised teaching as a two-way process.
Keynote Speaker, Dr Vandana Sehgal, Professor and Dean, Faculty of Architecture, Dr Abdul Kalam Technical University, U.P. in her address emphasised Architecture course as holistic with definite outcomes which are set in the course, however, with a need to streamline the course. Blended teaching in the future through research, digitization & technology, and basic hands-on learning is essential. She also stressed that the parameters of OBE need to be more flexible for the Architecture programme, and that documentation is the way forward for the outcome.
