AP&FWD Kashmir holds Gandhi Jayanti celebrations

 

SRINAGAR : The Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare Department (AP&FWD) Kashmir today celebrated Gandhi Jayanti and Swachhta pledge ceremony was also held in all district offices of the department across the valley.

The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal kick started the event at Agriculture Complex Kupwara where he along with other officers of the district took Swachhta oath.

On the occasion, a massive cleanliness drive was initiated across the district Kupwara.

The Director highlighted the importance of cleanliness and its role in preserving the environment and health of people. He also highlighted the importance of cleanliness amid Covid-19 scenario and impressed upon the employees working in the Agriculture department across the valley to promote cleanliness for keeping the environment clean.

He said that cleanliness is the best service to mankind which should be the driving force while performing the day to day professional duties.

Similar function were held at Directorate of Agriculture Lalmandi and at all the District, Sub- Divisional and Zonal level Offices which was monitored by Joint Director Agriculture Extension Sheikh Shahid Iqbal, Joint Director Inputs Farooq Ahmad Shah, Joint Director Marketing M. Qasim Ghani, Joint Director Farms Syed Waseem Ahmad Shah, Joint Director Mushroom and Apiculture M. Syed Peer, Deputy Director Agriculture Central Zaffer Ahmad Hakeem besides all officers and officials participated in the campaign .

Later, the Director launched a massive program on oilseed production for the coming Rabi season and stressed on the 100 percent achievement of targets for the district by reviving the traditional practices with latest technological interventions and incorporation of high yielding varieties.
