App-based fuel delivery start-up, The Fuel Delivery eyes business worth INR 250 crores from real estate in FY21-22
New Delhi: App-based door-to-door fuel delivery service provider, The Fuel Delivery, is eyeing business worth INR 250 crores in FY 2021-22 from real estate alone. Real estate projects, whether completed and under-construction, require fuel for an uninterrupted power supply. The app-based fuel delivery helps them save time and hassle of long queues at fuel-filling stations.
“Real Estate sector is one of our key sectors from a business perspective. According to a recent Anarock report, real estate has witnessed 93% gaining sales in Q1 of 2021. The sector has gained back momentum, and we are targeting business worth INR 250 crores from real estate in FY21-22. We certainly foresee a robust demand in this segment due to the revival of consumer sentiment and the policy push by the government,” said Mr Rakshit Mathur, Founder & CEO, The Fuel Delivery.
Founded in 2020, The Fuel Delivery is presently operational in Delhi-NCR and launched in Mumbai operations as well in 2021. It is further eyeing expansion in a phased manner in key markets like Bengaluru Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Pune, Nagpur, Chennai and Kolkata in the next 10 to 12 months.
The Fuel Deliver’s services are available 24X7 through an on-demand app based on a pre-set delivery timing and location preference. Customer places an order through the mobile or web app, while the fuel is delivered with customer details like name, mobile number, quantity, address and time of delivery. All the company’s bowsers that are compliant with the Petroleum and explosives Safety Organization (PESO) standards will bring it to the set destination. The company has leveraged the potential of IoT (Internet of Things), new technology for developing and deploying the mobile app. All the delivery vehicles are enabled with an IoT solution that enables monitoring and tracking in real-time while managing logistics better by reducing order fulfilment time.
The Fuel Delivery has also signed an ‘All India Business Agreement’ with state-owned oil major, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). The service level agreement allows The Fuel Delivery to offer doorstep delivery of diesel anywhere in India. With the company’s service offerings and IOCL’s footprint across the length and breadth of the country, The Fuel Delivery aims further to expand the IOCL’s rich legacy in fuel retail.
Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) in Delhi have also come forward to ensure the uninterrupted doorstep delivery of fuel amid COVID-19. All Dwarka Residents Federation (ADRF) supports The Fuel delivery to provide 24X7 doorstep fuel delivery in West Delhi. According to an India Ratings and Research (Ind-Ra) report, the residential real estate sector is expected to witness traction in FY22. Moreover, the overall floor space sale is likely to increase by 30% year-on-year in FY22, after a 34% year-on-year decline in FY21.
The COVID-19 pandemic has also accelerated digitisation and given a fillip to e-commerce. People are increasingly relying on doorstep delivery of products such as grocery, clothing and now even fuel. Doorstep fuel delivery has become a necessity amid these unprecedented times. According to reports on the preliminary sales data of state-owned fuel retailers, diesel consumption has soared by 75% to 1.93 million tonnes in the first half of May 2021, as compared to April 2021.
