Applications for the Summer Cohort 2021 GPODS Fellowship are out now!

Over the past many years, the importance of a fellowship has not only been realised by graduate of Ph.D. students but by professionals and experienced leaders as well. With the effects of the pandemic still prevalent around us at all levels, it has become imperative on us to study, lead discussions and formulate policies in distinct sectors.

The Global Policy-Diplomacy-Sustainability (GPODS) Fellowship, a collaborative initiative of the Global Policy Insights (GPI) & Envipol aims to address concerns in three major platforms (public governance, international political economy and diplomacy and sustainable living) that can help to bring about a change in the world.

It is a three-month extensive fellowship program that consists of three courses and five workshops, with over 40+ mentors from around the world, who are experts at building a comprehensive understanding on these perspectives and instil a deeper sense of accomplishment. The program has previously had the exceptional privilege of hosting Justice Brian Preston, Chief Judge of the land and environment court of New South Wales, Mr. Ovais Sarmad, Assistant Secretary-General Deputy Executive Secretary of UNFCCC, Ms. Shelli Brunswick, COO of Space Foundation, and many more eminent personalities. Through this two-way exchange of ideas and practices, the fellows establish a deeper respect and passion towards these intricate issues. It gives them a solid chance to improve on their leadership skills, develop linkage with counterparts and encourage increased knowledge in the areas that demand our attention.

This enriching fellowship program consists of three courses- Comparative public administration, global political economy and diplomacy and global commons seminar series on sustainability, health and climate change. The three courses are taught in the time period of 20 hours each. Apart from this, five different workshops on public policy series, system thinking, fund raising, policy writing & and communications lab, sustainable economy & climate change and public policy case studies help the fellows in getting a first-hand practical experience on the distinct subjects. The fellows have gloriously spoken and been a part of multiple international forums ranging from UN Habitat, International Dialogue on Migration, to Indian Forum for Public Diplomacy and EGU Conference Europe. Very recently, the fellows also shared a networking session with the Copenhagen Business School, which went on very successfully.

The fellowship holds a distinct feature in bringing young professionals, academicians, practitioners, entrepreneurs, and experts all together as fellows and is hence open for all those who want to carve out a fulfilling change globally. Dr. Henrik Syse, Vice-Chair of the Nobel Peace Prize Committee delivered the first cohort convocation address. For the Summer 2021 cohort, the program welcomes some exceptionally respectable dignitaries like Ms. Clare Hutchison, NATO special representative for women, peace and security, H.E. Freddy Svane, Ambassador of Denmark to India, Mr. John Dickson, President of the World Trade and Development Group and so many more from renowned institutions and offices.

The good news is that the fellowship has just announced their Summer Cohort Program 2021 and is seeking applications from around the globe. So if you believe that you want to be part of the movement to change what you can, then do apply to the GPODS fellowship.
