Applied Geology students undergo training

 

Aligarh : Ph. D and M. Sc students of Applied Geology from the Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) are ‘keeping up to speed’ with new skills for careers in petroleum exploration and development.

They were recently provided with hands-on-training in a special session of the Training and Placement Cell, Department of Geology. The training was organised in collaboration with EduCAVE, Pune.

Resource person, Khalid Karajagi, a Lead Operations Engineer in Directional Drilling shared experiences of working in Geoscience Services for the past 12 years.

He apprised the students with the necessary skills for working in deepwater offshore projects and discussed opportunities in the ‘Formation Evaluation’ field.

Khalid later answered queries on employment and industry demand in the petroleum sector.

Prof Md Erfan Ali Mondal delivered the welcome address and extended the vote of thanks.
