Arrangements for Covid-19 vaccine rollout finalised at Kupwara; 43 PHCs to be covered in Phase-I

Kupwara: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Anshul Garg, today convened a meeting of District Task Force Committee (DTFC) to finalise the arrangements for roll out of Covid-19 vaccination in the district.

On the occasion, the DC directed the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kousar Amin to ensure fool proof arrangements to carry out the vaccination process in Phase-I smoothly. He stressed upon the concerned to consolidate the contact details of medical and supporting staff for effective communication during the implementation of vaccination programme.

The DC impressed upon the concerned for storage of the vaccine in hygienic conditions. He also directed for proper disposal of the wastage for proper hygiene.

Earlier, the CMO informed the meeting that dry run of the vaccination process was carried out on Friday in 03 PHCs of the district and the same shall continue in other PHCs as well before the beginning of the actual vaccination drive.

The meeting was informed that 43 PHCs in nine blocks of the district will be covered in Phase-I of vaccination process, scheduled to cover 7500 frontline health workers of the district.

It was also informed in the meeting that all necessary arrangements have been put in place for smooth rollout of the vaccine in the district. In this regard, arrangements vis a vis Power Backup, transportation, storage of vaccine, mobilisation of medical and supporting staff, telecommunication and uploading of data on COWIN Portal have been finalised.

Among others concerned, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Nazir Ahmad Lone, Block Medical Officers were present in the meeting.
