Arrangements for NVD, Martyrs Day finalized in Rajouri
Rajouri: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, today chaired a meeting of senior officers to finalize the arrangements for the National Voters Day.
Among the others the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh; Additional Deputy Commissioner Kalakote, Krishan Lal Sharma; Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar; Additional Deputy Commissioner Kotranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma; Additional SP, Liaqat Choudhary; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mohd Ashraf; SDM Thanamandi, Dr.Zakir Hussain, Chief Education Officer, Gulzar Hussain, Prof.Shakeel Raina; Deputy DEO, Parveen Akhtar, District Information Officer, Narinder Kumar; ARTO, Inzar Rana, Tehsildars and other concerned Officers.
A detailed discussion was held in connection with the steps to be initiated for the celebration of this national event by the line departments.
It was given out that functions would be held at district, subdivision, Tehsil, and booth levels in which Officers, BDC Chairpersons, MC Presidents, Sarpanchs, Panchs, Councillors general public, civil society members, senior citizens, representatives of NGOs and others shall participate.
It was also given in the meeting that all the DDC members shall participate in the district level function shall also attend the virtual programme along with the Deputy Commissioner.
The Deputy Commissioner said that National Voters Day is celebrated every year with a particular theme. “It not only encourages the youth to participate in the electoral process but also focuses that the Right to vote is the basic right,” he added.
Meanwhile, arrangements in connection with Martyrs day were also discussed in detail. The Deputy Commissioner said on 30th of January a two-minute silence would be observed across the district under one umbrella at 11:00 AM.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the tehsildars to identify the locations for organising activities in connection with the Martyrs day celebration.
“General public, Commuters and transporters will be sensitized about the Martyrs day celebration through Social, print media and through social and religious organisation,” he said.
