Arrangements for Shab-i-Barat reviewed at Kulgam

Kulgam: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting of officers to review and finalize the arrangements for the ensuing auspicious day of Shab-i-Barat here.

The DDC on the occasion sought a detailed report from concerned officers regarding the arrangements of electricity, water supply, cleanliness, fire service, transport and medical aid on the occasion.

The DC stressed for uninterrupted power and water supply at Ziyarat Shareef Mir Syed Ali Simnani (RA) and at all shrines/ mosques, where large gatherings are expected.

Regarding the availability of water supply, the PHE department was asked to take adequate measures for uninterrupted water supply and ensure availability of water tankers at these places.

To ensure hassle-free movement of traffic and pedestrians, DDC asked the transport authorities to provide sufficient transport facilities for the devotees, besides ensuring traffic routes are designed for the smooth travel of all devotees.

The DDC asked the Municipal Committees to carry out cleanliness drives at these places besides fixing all the defunct street lights. He also directed the health department to set up medical aid camps along with adequate doctors and paramedical staff round the clock at all these shrines.

Fire Services was directed to stay in alert mode to deal with any exigency.

The DDC directed all the concerned to ensure Covid-19 protocols are followed in letter and spirit.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, DSP-HQ, CMO, Ex. Engineers of PHE, KPDCL, besides chairman and representatives of Auqaf Committee Kulgam.
