Array of Social Awareness Programs by Students of Orchids – The International School
Mumbai : Students from multiple branches of Orchids – The International School (OIS), celebrated 75th Independence Day with patriotic fervor at Orchids The International School (Thane). The program commenced with the hoisting of the flag by the School Principal. Everyone sang the national anthem enthusing the hearts with sentiments for the motherland. Followed by the students’ performances as they held up handmade placards which carried various messages on some of the persisting issues in the country which needed attention from the society.
The students of OIS performed a flash mob on some of the patriotic songs. Every performance was cheered and applauded by the crowd.
Diwakar Bhaskar Shelke, Asst. Commissioner of Police (Thane), environmentalists Nitin Wadhwani–Founder & Director, NGO CACR and Rashmi Singh, Founder, Mumbai Ploggers were the chief guests of this event and they appreciated the performance of the students.
The celebration culminated with a vote of thanks by the Principal Ms. Anjula Ratan. She appreciated all the students for their sheer hard work and said, “We are all indebted to our national heroes who made this country what it is today. As patriotic citizens, let’s put extra effort into performing our civic responsibilities. On Independence Day, we commemorate not only the sacrifices made by our great freedom warriors but also all the accomplishments of our country, which further motivates us to succeed in all facets of life. For this special day, our students put together this special performance for making the event successful and we pledge to become responsible citizens and make our country proud.”
