Art exhibition winners felicitated
ALIGARH : Ms Yamini Baghel and Ms Farheen from the Department of Fine Arts and Ms Adiba Nizami and Ms Rashi Sharma from the Women’s College, Aligarh Muslim University were felicitated with the four best painting award at the conclusion of the three-day Annual Art Exhibition ’2022 organized by the Department of Fine Arts at the Moinuddin Art Gallery.
Chief Guest, Prof Mohammad Gulrez (Pro-Vice Chancellor) and Guest of Honour, Prof Naima Khatoon (Principal, Women’s College) felicitated the winners with award certificates.
The jury member and also a guest of honour, Professor Sadre Alam (Former Dean, Faculty of Fine Arts, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi), appreciated the artworks put on display at the exhibition for their quality.
Praising students for their fascinating artworks, Prof Mohd Gulrez said such exhibitions work as confidence-building measures for young artists and help them gauge the challenges in pursuit of suitable placements and career building.
Professor Naima Khatoon lauded the participation of female students in the exhibition and urged them to work with greater vigour and passion and achieve excellence in this field.
Professor Badar Jahan (Chairperson, Department of Fine Arts and Coordinator, Moinuddin Ahmad Art Gallery) said that the works displayed in the art gallery were the result of various medium, styles and experiments carried out by the students throughout the years.
Dr Waseem Mushtaq conducted the proceedings of the award function.
