ASHRAE AMU Student Chapter Orientation Ceremony
Aligarh: There is an immediate need for the global society to advance human well-being through sustainable technology, said Prof Rajinder Singh, (PUSA Institute of Technology, New Delhi) in the orientation ceremony of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Student Chapter, Department of Mechanical Engineering, ZH College of Engineering and Technology, AMU.
“ASHRAE is advancing the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and their allied fields for a healthy and sustainable environment”, he added.
Prof Rajinder explained the basics of Thermodynamics and delivered a lecture on ‘Use of Green Secondary Refrigerant (Ice Slurry) for Refrigeration and Air- Conditioning’.
After the welcome address, Prof M Muzammil (Chairman, Department of Mechanical Engineering) stressed the need for more research in science and technology related to the stationary and mobile built environment.
ASHRAE AMU Student Chapter President, Mohammed Zainul Arefeen and Secretary, Mohammed Afzal pointed out how ASHRAE critically assesses the existing literature and points out the future research directions for a sustainable built environment for all.
Mr Taliv Hussain (Student Advisor, ASHRAE AMU Student Chapter) coordinated the Orientation Ceremony and extended the vote of thanks.
Faculty members and students from different engineering branches participated in the programme.
