ASM organises MDP on Happiness Strategy for the people of Power System Corporation Limited

New Delhi: The Apeejay School of Management(ASM) recently conducted a two-day’s Management Development Programme (MDP) on Happiness Strategy named ‘Anand’ for the middle and senior level staff of Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO).

The faculty members of ASM designed the MDP content keeping in mind the rising mental health issues due to the pandemic. They used stories, cases studies , songs & videos to make the sessions interactive and interesting.

At the beginning of the MDP, Dr. Ishita Adhikari, faculty in Human Resources, set the context of the topic while mentioning different dimensions of happiness. This was followed by a session on ‘Mindfulness’ by Dr. Preeti Suryawanshi, faculty of marketing, who used the Art and science of being mindful and practical techniques of being mindful in everyday life.

Later on the same day, Dr. Shweta Jha, faculty of HR, threw some light on the importance of understanding self and others to attain happiness at workplace. She also covered the importance of infra-personal & interpersonal issues. Dr. Jha further used some situation-based exercises to help the participants better.

On the second day, started with a session on ‘7 Sins that an Individual Commits’, which leads to unhappiness. At this session, Dr. Suryawanshi elaborated on how good habits can be cultivated to overcome these Sins. The session provided practical exercises to develop 7 habits of a highly contended person.

This was followed by session on ‘Transforming Fear and Negativity into Positivity through Gratitude’ by Dr. Chhaya Wadhwa, faculty of Business Communication. She laid down the importance of gratitude in strengthening interpersonal relations and building positive culture at workplace.

Moreover, Dr. Jha took a session on ‘Dimensions of Wellness and Attaining Happiness through Wellness’. She provided an opportunity to the participants to understand the role of individual and organization in creating well-being through various exercises.

The Apeejay School of Management has been conducting similar MDPs and workshops for various companies and near by communities to propagate the larger cause of maintaining sustainable development and life enrichment that includes supporting under privileged students and senior citizens through various means and modes.
